Full dentures are sometimes necessary for patients who are missing most their natural teeth. However, they do not have to be problematic. Patients who have dentures in the Las Vegas area that are not fitting properly may want to consider dental implants for stabilization.
Implant-supported dentures are extremely popular for dental restorations. They allow patients to replace an entire arch of teeth without dealing with ill-fitting restorations. Sometimes, patients can use dental adhesives or natural suction to achieve results, while other times they are not enough for them to enjoy their favorite foods. Instead, patients can have several dental implants placed to hold the dentures in place.
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone. They can anchor the dentures in place to avoid shifting. When patients use implant-supported dentures, they no longer feel self-conscious about their restorations and their ability to eat foods such as steak or apples. Implant-supported dentures are considered the most efficient way of replacing multiple teeth.
Dental implants require sufficient bone structure to maintain their stability. If patients do not have enough bone available for successful placement, they can consider having bone grafting performed.
